Forces of Nature #7

The Ponta Delgada – Azores 2027 bid for European Capital of Culture has launched the “Forces of Nature” photographic series, by the photographer Paulo Goulart. The aim is to show that our nature is human, by showing people that build the culture of this place.

Catarina Alves is a dreamer, a believer, a creative, a sculptor, a trainer and entrepreneur.  She makes sculptures (statutory, public works and trophies), handmade jewellery (with Pedras de Lava) and collaborates with some institutions developing projects in the area of ​​visual  arts with children and people with disabilities. Recently, she has promoted environmental awareness through art with exhibitions, workshops and the creation of collaborative pieces with the community.
