Azorean government and Ponta Delgada Municipality reinforce their support for the Ponta Delgada - Azores 2027 candidacy

The president of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, has manifested his "full support" for the candidacy of Ponta Delgada - Azores 2027.
This statement came after the chief of the regional executive met with the mayor of Ponta Delgada, Pedro Nascimento Cabral, as well as the Ponta Delgada - Azores 2027 creative director, António Pedro Lopes, and the project’s consultants, Pia Leydolt and Ulrich Fuchs.
The mayor of the city also reiterated his ambition in promoting the necessary measures to ensure the success of this bid.
“Considering the jury’s recommendation that the investment, presented by both the Municipality and the Region, is modest when compared with the project’s necessities, we assume the compromise of working to increment those values. We believe that this project will contribute to promote a social, economical and cultural change in Ponta Delgada, but also the Region, as it is our intent to involve all entities of the archipelago”, said Pedro Nascimento Cabral.
