Ponta Delgada City Council aims to win the candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2027

The Mayor of Ponta Delgada, Pedro Nascimento Cabral, reiterated today that the municipality aims to win the candidacy for the European Capital of Culture – Azores 2027.
Pedro Nascimento Cabral, who spoke at the end of the morning, made a positive evaluation of this "challenge" defending the candidacy before the international jury. After his presentation, there was a time for questions and answers.
Additionally, the Mayor said that he was awaiting the results with "serenity and confidence", emphasizing the sense of mission and good spirit of the committee that defended the candidacy.
The results will be known tomorrow, March 11th, and only a short list of cities will proceed to the second phase, competing for the title of European Capital of Culture that will be announced in early 2023.
